Don’t mind me, just raving a tad
Bloody hell.
It’s been how long since I last posted here? (Posting about things that turn up in my inbox do not count.)
It’s been how long since I last did some decent beta work? (Catherine has quoted some ‘running commentary’ from me of my beta work – I choose to have fun with it).
It’s been how long since I last updated that sidebar info? -checks- Uhm, a good coupla chapters ago. -fixes-
Well then! What’s happening with me:
I got Poster!Peter yesterday, which was awesome. He shall go with Poster!Paul(please excuse image quality) in my ‘Collection of Awesome’.
I have exams next week. Yes this means that there will be REVIEWNOTES postings in the near future. I feel I should apologise, but I am not sorry at all.
I watched all the way through s1 of Life on Mars, and should be starting the second season shortly. I have many thinky-thoughts on this program, which includes meta on the nature of death and lying (yes, lying, not dying), and the roles that both Annie and the Test Card Girl play.
I began work on a Life on Mars fic, which I may or may not post here. Probably not here.
I received my superspecialawesome copy of ‘Diary of a Dr. Who Addict‘ in the mail the other day, but I am not permitted to review it yet (yes, I know the release date says ‘May 9′. It’s a review copy.
). While I may not be permitted to review it, I feel that I can say this: A quick glance through (and I do mean quick, because this is also assignment season), gave me a general feeling of ‘fantastic’. Catherine, who was seconds away from posting her review in On The Nightstand when we got the DNR notice (Do Not Review), has read right the way through it and quoted a few bits and bobs at me; one that really stands out is a comment on the anticipation of what the next doctor is gong to be like. For the character, it’s Five, but right now? It’s Eleven. The fact is that the part she quoted describes exactly how I – and probably quite a lot of fandom – feels about the next doctor, right this very instant. I mean, I love David Tennant -swoons-, and I’m going to miss his portrayal immensely, but there’s also the anticipation: What will Matt Smith be like? Will he be brilliant from the start, like Pertwee or Davidson, or will he grow on us, like Colin Baker and McCoy? (You can’t argue with me about Colin Baker, because he’s grown astoundingly in popularity. For reasons regarding McCoy’s need to grow on us first, I’d like to direct you to Delta and the Bannermen). It’ll be interesting.
I caught myself writing class notes in Latin the other day, and my elocution of the English Language is currently suffering from one of my periodic stammer attacks, which I suspect tells me that I need to use my left hand more.
It’s almost Graduation! This means I need to get cracking on those songs for the party. I’ll be doing my own hair for this gig though.
ANZAC Day’s coming up. Another Year, another Dawn Service, and another Day of Remembering. I’m wandering around with a Poppy.
Easter came and went. I got no rabbit or egg-related items. Probably a good thing.
One of my wisdom teeth is coming through, and it doesn’t hurt a bit. I am so delighted; hope the others are just as painless and don’t need to be attacked by dentists.
Miss. Home. Lots.
Holy freaking monkeys, I’m Graduating soon? When the setesh did that ever happen?
Three words: Hard Core Logo. That is all.
I’ll be getting seriously cracking on the beta stuff after ANZAC Day. And the comics. Promise!
And now, it is time for dinner.
